What is the Human Services Training Program?
Imagine this: a life–changing program from Polus Center. In this six-week visionary training, you’ll be primed to dive into the dynamic world of human services. Over the course of 24 class sessions, various educators, consultants, and people working in the field assist job seekers in identifying their passions. To address the critical need for job readiness, the course seamlessly integrates resume writing, cover letter writing, interview skills, and job search techniques into the six-week session. Polus Center staff meet with participants in private sessions to provide highly individualized support and feedback. You will leave this course having earned a certificate of completion that marks an important turning point in your career. With individualized help from Polus staff along the way, we’ll partner with you in finding the Human Services job that awaits you.
It's more than a class.
Believe in the limitless possibilities – this isn’t just training; it’s a springboard to diverse fulfilling career paths. Human service agencies offer growth without further education, and our course cements the key skills needed for success, including empathy, communication, and resiliency. We go further, exploring “the power of positive roles” and the value of person-centered support. Be inspired by leaders in the human services field sharing stories about their careers in autism services, recovery support, mental health, and more.
This is not just a typical training program; it’s an odyssey into the heart of what makes a great human service employee. And great human service employees make a difference in the lives of the people they serve. We’re here to ignite passion and equip you for day-one excellence.
